Seat Upgrades Auction Prototype

The Challenge

The sales team at Seatfrog faced a critical challenge in effectively demonstrating our seat upgrades platform to potential clients. The existing demo was clunky, unattractive, and offered a poor user experience, hindering the team’s ability to showcase the platform’s true potential. The demo needed revamping, but a redesign would have to be executed in less than two weeks and be flexible enough to be updated with multiple rail companies' branding by other designers in just a few hours.

Discovery and Foundations

Quickly sketching out and wireframing a core concept helped to clarify the sales team’s objectives and solve chief complaints, and offered a chance for me to refine how I approached the UI. I also involved stakeholders on other teams, where I conducted concise and goal-driven interviews and applied my findings directly to the wireframes, which were built with a basic but scalable Design System framework in Figma.

The Solution

After Discovery was complete, I then created a streamlined prototype in Figma which addressed UX/UI issues comprehensively. I iterated on this prototype quickly using internal stakeholder feedback, which allowed me to test and validate ideas at a rapid pace.

The new prototype not only improved UX but also incorporated our client's branding seamlessly into the UI. The result was an easy-to-use, visually appealing mobile demo that provided the much-needed "wow" factor.

The Result

As a result, the sales team saw an immediate and overwhelmingly positive response from potential clients. This revamped approach allowed Seatfrog to demonstrate its core seat upgrades product in a more sophisticated manner, effectively highlighting the platform's capabilities and benefits.

The positive impact of this reconfigurable prototype resulted in several key sales with rail lines in Europe, underlining the significant role that this innovative, more polished demo played in Seatfrog's success and expansion in the market.
